Product details

Background & context

Several sharpened stakes were part of a legionary's marching kit. From them and from felled timber came the top of the camp rampart: a palisade high enough to hold off raids and low enough to throw missiles over. There was nothing grand about it, just daily work - cut the wood, sharpen it, drive it in, and the next evening it all stood somewhere else again.

On the tabletop

These four palisade sections extend the Roman marching fort or stand on the table as a defence in their own right. MDF clips join them to whatever length your deployment needs, and they come apart again for storage. In Hail Caesar Epic Battles your units shelter behind them while the enemy has to assault the line. They are modelled on the stakes every legionary carried on the march.
