    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Celtic tribes of Gaul and the British Isles were among the most renowned warrior peoples of antiquity. Their warfare was characterized by untamed aggression, a deafening din of battle, and the psychological terror that naked Gaesatae warriors and thundering chariots unleashed upon their enemies. Despite their martial reputation, the Celts were not a chaotic horde, but organized themselves into tribes under charismatic leaders who developed considerable fighting power in both offensive and defensive capacities. As mercenaries, Celtic warriors served in various armies of the Mediterranean region - extending their military significance far beyond their own homelands.
