Product details

Background & context

Carthage was one of the most important naval powers of antiquity, its influence extending over large parts of the western Mediterranean. The wealth of the Carthaginian Empire enabled it to field powerful mercenary armies composed of various peoples. Battle-hardened warriors from Gaul, resilient Iberian foot soldiers, and mounted Numidians, together with Libyan elite infantry, formed the characteristic core of these forces. This ethnic diversity shaped the appearance of Carthaginian armies and made them a flexible and feared adversary in the struggles for supremacy in the Mediterranean.

On the tabletop

This set forms the core of a playable army for Hail Caesar Epic Battles. On the tabletop, it covers phalanx, peltasts, light cavalry, and slingers, and is suitable for battles in the context of the Punic Wars.
