Product details

Background & context

The Punic Wars were among the most consequential conflicts of antiquity: for over a century, Carthage and Rome vied for supremacy in the Mediterranean. At the head of the Carthaginian forces were highly gifted generals whose military capabilities made them serious adversaries of the rising Roman Republic. Members of an influential Carthaginian ruling family, in particular, played a decisive role in shaping the course of these wars. Hannibal Barca is still considered one of the most important military commanders in world history - his ability to lead diverse troops and outwit his opponents with cunning secured him lasting fame.

On the tabletop

Ten figures give your Carthaginian army its leadership in Epic Battles and Hail Caesar: Hannibal Barca with his shield bearer, his brothers Hasdrubal and Mago, Hanno and Hasdrubal Gisco as further commanders, plus a servant with a fan, two standard bearers and an officer with a scroll. Field Hannibal as commander-in-chief while the others lead your divisions of Libyans, Iberians, Celts and Numidians. The attendants let you turn the command bases into small scenes.
