Product details

Background & context

An ancient army ate its way through the country the moment it stood still. Grain, tent sheets, spare weapons and tools therefore followed the troops in long columns, drawn by oxen and in drier regions by camels. Commanders from Philip II to Caesar drilled their men to carry as much as possible themselves, because every cart slowed the march. And whoever caught the enemy's baggage had often won the battle without touching the main line.

On the tabletop

With two ox carts, a horse-drawn cart and laden horses and camels, your army in Epic Battles and Hail Caesar gets a baggage train. It stands in the camp behind your battle line and gives scenarios an objective to defend or capture, since losing the baggage could decide a battle before the main lines ever met. Camels suit armies from drier regions, oxen all the others. All parts are resin.
