    Product details

    Background & context

    On the tabletop

Light horsemen like these twelve handled scouting, skirmishing and pursuit in Greek armies, while the decision came in the phalanx. In games you circle the enemy with them, throw javelins into open flanks and keep hostile skirmishers away from your hoplites. They carry swords for close combat, but are better off avoiding heavy cavalry. With trumpeters as musicians they complement the heavy Macedonian and Greek cavalry of the Successor period.
