    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    In ancient times, the Germanic tribes were considered the wildest and most unpredictable warriors north of the Alps. Among their particularly fanatical fighters were men who worked themselves into a kind of battle frenzy and charged into the enemy bare-chested or lightly armored. Tacitus described these warriors as imbued with almost untamable courage, driven by tribal honor and religious fervor. For the Roman legions, they were a constant threat - unpredictable, tenacious, and contemptuous of death. They became famous at the latest with the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in 9 AD, when Germanic warriors decisively defeated three Roman legions.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Germanic Fanatics in Hail Caesar are used as aggressive melee infantry for Germanic tribal forces on the borders of Rome. In the game, the unit builds pressure through mass, terrain attacks, and coordinated charges. It performs best when adjacent troops secure the flanks and the attack is not conducted in isolation.
