    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The supply routes of the German Afrika Korps stretched for hundreds of kilometers across the desert - a logistical Herculean task that ultimately also decided the fate of the campaign. Truck crews made a decisive but often overlooked contribution to Rommel's campaigns: they transported fuel, ammunition, provisions, water, and reinforcements over thousands of kilometers of desert track, often under constant threat from Allied air attacks and the notorious Long Range Desert Group. In tropical uniforms and with the characteristic pith helmet or tropical field cap, they are an unmistakable part of the Afrika Korps' appearance. Typical tasks included not only pure transport but also improvised repairs, salvaging stranded vehicles, and self-defense against enemy commando units - truck crews were armed with carbines and submachine guns.

    Set 2 complements Set 1 for a complete and varied truck crew without figure duplication. Ideal for all German Africa Corps vehicle models on the North Africa game table. Combined with Set 1, authentically manned convoys and transport units are created.
