    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    Rommel's tank crews in the North African campaign were among the most experienced armored crews of the war. The 5th Light Division (later 21st Panzer Division) and the 15th Panzer Division formed the core of the Afrika Korps' armored forces and fought for two years against the British 8th Army and the Allied forces. In improvised tropical versions of their uniform, they mastered the extreme conditions of desert warfare - temperatures over 50°C inside the tanks, omnipresent fine sand that penetrated all mechanisms, and the need to cope with the tropical helmet or tank beret rolled in hand during combat. Set 2 complements Set 1 for a complete and historically accurate crew representation.
