The second set of German Winter Infantry figures expands the range of poses and weaponry. Combined with Set 1 (Rubicon SKU 284122), varied and authentic Wehrmacht infantry units can be created for the toughest battles on the Eastern Front - from Moscow to Stalingrad and the Ardennes Offensive.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

On the Eastern Front, the Wehrmacht fought under the most extreme weather conditions. During the winter of 1941/42, Soviet forces attacked in blizzards, while German soldiers froze in improvised winter clothing - proper winter equipment only became available in the second year of the war. Even in later winters (Stalingrad 1942/43, Kharkov 1943, East Prussia 1944/45) and on the Western Front (Ardennes Offensive December 1944), winter conditions remained a central factor of the war. Rubicon Models' winter uniform sets allow for the authentic representation of these fighters with the correct equipment for the merciless Eastern Front winters and the snowy battles of the late war phase.

Einsatz im Spiel

Set 2 expands the options for winter infantry units, and in combination with Set 1, allows for the creation of varied platoons without repeating figures. On the game table, these figures represent regular army infantry for all Eastern Front winter scenarios from 1941 to 1945.
