3D-printed resin figures of German infantrymen in winter uniforms - equipped with quilted jackets, winter trousers and the typical Wehrmacht weapons used in the Eastern Front. The first set offers a selection of different poses and armaments for a varied representation of winter combatants. Can be combined with Set 2 (Rubicon SKU 284123) for complete squad formations.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

In the autumn and winter of 1941, the Wehrmacht encountered the harshest temperatures in decades on their way to Moscow - daytime temperatures of -30 to -40°C caused fuel to freeze, lubricating oil to congeal, and weapon mechanisms to jam. The improvised winter uniforms of the early Eastern Front phase of 1941/42 were a motley collection of civilian fur coats, requisitioned Soviet winter equipment, and the first makeshift padded jackets. Only from the winter of 1942/43 onwards was the Wehrmacht standardly equipped with reversible winter camouflage suits (white/field grey), lined winter coats, felt boots, and fur hats. German infantrymen in padded jackets, white camouflage smocks, and winter caps are the characteristic image of the Eastern Front war from 1941 to 1945 - a phase in which the climate often caused more casualties than the enemy.

Einsatz im Spiel

These figures are ideal for all Eastern Front scenarios in winter conditions - from Moscow 1941, through Stalingrad, to the final battles in East Prussia 1945. Combined with Set 2, complete winter infantry platoons can be assembled. On the gaming table, they can represent regular infantry, HQ elements, or special units.
