Hintergrund & Einordnung

The officers and non-commissioned officers of the German Africa Corps led their men following Rommel's example, directly from the front - the "Desert Fox" himself was notorious for his aggressive, mobile leadership style and often positioned himself in the foremost command half-track. In the desert, clear orders and swift decisions were crucial - German *Auftragstaktik* (mission tactics) granted junior officers extensive autonomy to make decisions on the spot, rather than waiting for orders from higher commands. The commanders of the DAK earned respect for their direct leadership style from friend and foe alike - even British commanders such as Auchinleck and Montgomery acknowledged the quality of German command in North Africa.

Einsatz im Spiel

The DAK Command Set provides the HQ element for any German North Africa force in Bolt Action. Officers and radio operators are indispensable as a command group for issuing orders and special actions. On the tabletop, the command team activates special rules and gives the unit tactical flexibility.
