Background & context

Wer einen keltischen Stamm anführte, musste ihn sich jeden Tag neu verdienen. Adlige hielten sich Gefolgschaften, deren Treue an Gastmählern, Geschenken und Kriegsruhm hing, und ein Häuptling ohne Beute verlor seine Männer an den Nachbarn. Deshalb suchten Kelten die Schlacht: Bei Telamon 225 v. Chr. stürmten die Gaesaten nackt gegen die Legionen, an der Sambre 57 v. Chr. überrannten die Nervier fast Caesars Lager. Ihre Reiter galten als die besten Westeuropas, Caesar selbst warb sie später gegen Pompeius an.

On the tabletop

Aus den 100 Kriegern stellst du mehrere große Kriegerhaufen zusammen und verteilst die Kommandofiguren auf die Einheiten. Diese Blöcke stehen dicht nebeneinander in der Mitte und gehen gemeinsam los, denn die Division gewinnt im Nahkampf und nicht mit Beschuss. Die 12 Reiter aus Resin laufen als Reiterei auf einem Flügel und setzen nach, sobald die Fußkrieger eine Lücke gerissen haben. Der Häuptling führt als Divisionskommandeur von hinter der Linie. Mit den Schilddecals unterscheidest du die Einheiten auf der Platte, und für Clash of Spears nimmst du nur einen Teil der Krieger heraus.
