    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    Josef 'Pips' Priller was one of the most famous fighter pilots in the Luftwaffe during World War II. After early deployments over Western Europe, he eventually took command of one of Germany's most renowned fighter wings and led it for several years of the war. With over a hundred aerial victories in several hundred combat missions, he belonged to the elite of German fighter pilots. He gained particular historical fame for his deployment on the day of the Allied landing in Normandy, when he and his wingman were among the few German pilots to fly over the beaches. After the war, he returned to his Bavarian homeland.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    In the game, 'Pips' Priller expands an existing Blood-Red-Skies squadron with a single Ace model, including a pilot card and special abilities. The mission revolves around an Fw 190 Ace deployment: The Ace is not meant to replace a standard squadron, but rather to specifically enhance its peak performance and tactical flexibility. The model is most sensible in historically appropriate scenarios concerning the Western Front and Normandy, where the pilot is deployed as a central figure.
