Product details

Background & context

In Konflikt '47 an American landing on Iwo Jima fails in late 1946. Japan then secretly trials the first prototypes of the Onryō, an assault walker for fighting at the closest range without exposing the pilot to return fire. The third prototype, under Captain Ishii Shigeru, received a Shiboru micro-gravity weapon to test the walker against heavily armoured opponents. In Japanese folklore an onryō is a vengeful spirit.

On the tabletop

On the table this walker follows the normal Onryō rules; the prototype only differs in appearance. With its Type 61 Light Shiboru Cannon it can take on more heavily armoured targets at short range, while the combat blade comes into play in melee. Because it is very agile, you can bring it into contact quickly, whether the enemy is infantry, walkers or tanks. In your Japanese army it belongs where your attack is meant to break through.
