Product details

Background & context

The archers of the early New Kingdom represented one of the most important troop types in the Egyptian army. These figures embody the infantry archers of the 17th and early 18th Dynasties, who served under pharaohs such as Khamose, Ahmose I,

On the tabletop

Archers were perhaps the most important troops of the New Kingdom Egyptian army. The figures wear banded armour of stiffened cloth and the characteristic headgear, and their composite bow shot far more powerfully than the older self bow. In Hail Caesar the 16 figures give you two units or a long screen of archers in front of your line. In games based on the campaigns of Ramesses II against the Hittites and their Canaanite allies, up to Kadesh in 1274 BC, they form the missile arm of your army.
