Product details

Background & context

For centuries, villages in Belarus, Ukraine and Russia were built of timber: houses, stables and barns of logs, often roofed with straw or boards. In 1812 they served the Grande Armée as quarters and storehouses, and in 1941 German and Soviet troops faced each other along the same roads. In a fight a barn offered concealment and shelter, but it burned quickly once artillery fell on the village.

On the tabletop

Lift the roof, place your infantry inside and the barn becomes a defensive position at the edge of the village. In Bolt Action it suits fighting on the Eastern Front from 1941, in Black Powder Napoleon's march on Moscow in 1812. As the building comes unpainted, you give it the finish your game needs, from an Eastern Front summer to a Russian winter.
