    Product details

    Background & context

During the Bronze Age, Libyan tribes posed the greatest threat from the west to the Egyptian Empire. Their light chariots were a central element of their warfare and, in some army compositions, accounted for up to a quarter of the total strength. In the 12th century BCE, the Libyans allied with the Sea Peoples and jointly attacked Egypt under Ramesses III.

    On the tabletop

For a Bronze Age Libyan army in Hail Caesar, this kit provides a light two-horse chariot in metal, with two crew figures and an optional third. Libyan chariots were an integral part of these armies and a serious threat to Egypt. Being lightly built, they are better suited to dashing in and throwing than to ramming. As the Libyans were allied with the Sea Peoples in the 12th century BC, the chariot also fits into a Sea Peoples army.
