    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The highlanders of the Early Bronze Age - including Lullubians, Gutians, Turukkians and early Hurrians of the Zagros and Taurus Mountains, as well as Elamite highlanders - were formidable archers. These mountain peoples fought both in their own tribal armies and as mercenaries in the city-state armies of Mesopotamia. Their typical mountain attire, which included boots as a practical alternative to sandals in the harsh mountain terrain, distinguished them from the lowland warriors. Armed with the early composite short bow, they often formed the core of early Elamite forces.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Early Highlander Archers are used in Hail Caesar as an archer unit for Bronze Age Mesopotamian, Syrian, or Elamite city-state and palace armies. In the game, they provide range, flank protection, and sustained ranged pressure against unshielded or already engaged targets. The unit should utilize terrain and distance, coordinating its actions with the movement of the main line.
