    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The ax-wielding warriors of the Old and Middle Kingdoms of Egypt were among the most feared close-combat fighters of the Bronze Age. As professional soldiers, also known as Menfat or Ahauty, they served the pharaoh and led the decisive close-quarters combat after the archers had weakened the enemy lines. The figures are suitable for Egyptian armies of the First Intermediate Period as well as the early Second Intermediate Period up to the native 16th Dynasty of Upper Egypt.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Early Egyptian Axemen are used in Hail Caesar as axe-wielding and close-combat infantry for Egyptian armies of the Old and Middle Kingdoms. In the game, they support spear lines and archers by engaging in crucial close combat. The unit should not be used in isolation, but rather in conjunction with missile troops and stable infantry blocks.
