    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The armies of Old and Middle Egypt (c. 2700-1550 BC) existed long before the introduction of the chariot and relied heavily on archers as ranged troops. The regular foot archers wore no body armor and used the double-convex recurve bow, which had not yet been replaced by the later Egyptian composite bow. In conjunction with close-combat troops, they formed the core of the ancient Egyptian infantry and enabled the pharaohs to control Nubia and the Levant.

    Early Egyptian Archers II is used in Hail Caesar as an archer unit for Egyptian armies of the Old and Middle Kingdoms. In the game, they provide ranged pressure, flank protection, and support for spearmen or axemen. The unit should utilize distance and terrain, as it must avoid close combat against solid heavy infantry.
