    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Achaeans - also known as the Mycenaeans - were the dominant power in the Aegean region during the Late Bronze Age, from approximately 1600 to 1100 BCE. Their warriors carried the distinctive tower shield and fought with the long thrusting spear as their primary weapon. This early period of Achaean forces includes both Late Minoan and Early Mycenaean armies. The Achaean city-states were in direct contact with the Hittites and the New Kingdom of Egypt, and shaped the legends of ancient Greece right up to Homer.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Early Achaean Spearmen in Hail Caesar represent a solid spear line for Mycenaean-Achaean Bronze Age armies. In the game, they stabilize the main battle line, hold ground, and tie up opponents, while lighter troops protect the flanks. The unit performs best in formation and loses effectiveness when deployed in unfavorable terrain or in isolation.
