    Hintergrund & Einordnung

Mesopotamia's early battle wagons were the most powerful fighting vehicles of the 3rd millennium BC. Pulled by four equids-donkeys or donkey-onager hybrids-they served the city-states of Sumer and Syria as powerful offensive weapons. They could be deployed in armies of cities such as Ur, Lagash, Uruk, Umma, Eridu, and Kish in Sumer, as well as Mari and Ebla in Syria. The four-seater, four-wheeled chariot was the heavy variant and provided space for a driver and an additional crew member with a javelin or command function.

    Einsatz im Spiel

Early 4-horse battlewagon II is used in Hail Caesar as a chariot or wagon fighting element for Bronze Age Mesopotamian, Syrian, or Elamite city-state and palace armies. In the game, it combines movement, ranged or melee combat options, and psychological pressure on flanks or light troops. Chariot models should be interpreted as mobile support and scenario elements, not simply as normal cavalry.
