    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    In the peace treaty of 89 AD, the Dacian king Decebalus became a client king of Rome and, in addition to money, received craftsmen and war machines-including the feared Scorpio. Instead of using these resources for border defense as Rome intended, Decebalus built new mountain fortresses and expanded existing ones. This action was a significant reason for Emperor Trajan's later attack on Dacia. The Dacians used captured and supplied Roman war machines to confront the legions on equal terms.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Dacians: The Scorpio serves in Hail Caesar as a war machine or artillery support for Dacian forces in the wars against Rome. In the game, it controls firing lanes, forces enemy formations to move, and supports its own line from a safe position. The model needs infantry protection because its value lies primarily in positional play, range, and scenario pressure.
