Product details

Background & context

Naval warfare close to the coast had little in common with the duels of the great battle fleets. Instead of firing over the horizon, the boats closed to visual range and engaged each other with machine guns, autocannons and torpedoes. Such an action was often decided within minutes, and losses hit the small crews hard. Smaller navies such as the Finnish Navy or the Yugoslav partisan units fought exactly this kind of war.

On the tabletop

Close Quarters! expands Cruel Seas with eleven new historical scenarios from every sea of the war and a random scenario generator. The fleet rosters of the naval powers are extended, with new lists for the Finnish Navy and the Yugoslav partisan fleet. On top come rules for amphibious landings and experimental Q-ships as well as expanded rules for aircraft and submarines. You need the Cruel Seas rulebook for these 1:300 naval battles.
