Description

A British laboratory finds an enzyme that breaks down metal, and packs it into ceramic-tipped rockets. On the broad Churchill hull this becomes a launcher that first makes armour brittle and then punches through with the next salvo.

Product details

Background & context

Even in 1941 the Churchill was no fast vehicle, but it was broadly built and thickly armoured, and so the obvious platform when British Rift research had to house a weapon system with no regard for weight. The Meteor rockets carry a ceramic tip in which the enzyme stays stable until impact. Where it escapes, the armour plate turns brittle within seconds, and the hard core of the next rocket goes through. The trick only works in staggered waves.

On the tabletop

The Churchill Meteor carries a multiple launcher for Meteor rockets on the broad, heavily armoured Churchill hull, designed against heavily armoured targets. An enzyme in the ceramic tip makes the armour brittle and the armour-piercing core of the following rockets then gets through, so staggered salvoes work best. Because the enemy will target it or try to outflank it, protect its flanks with infantry or weapons teams and keep a solid firing line. That is how you play it in Commonwealth lists for Konflikt '47.
