With the advent of Rift technology, Japan was able to catch up in some areas. The study of Rift data supplied by Germany has enabled Japanese scientists to develop a family of rapid-fire Compression weapons. The Type 97 Chi-Ha with the larger Shinhoto turret served as the testbed for the first Compression Cannon trials, leading to the commissioning of the armed variant from late 1946.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

In the Konflikt '47 universe, Japan, despite industrial restrictions, has decisively caught up with Rift-tech innovations: the Compression Cannon - a rapid-firing energy weapon, based on Japan's battery lead and German Rift data - was initially mounted on the Type 97 Chi-Ha with the larger Shinhoto turret. The Compression variant of the Chi-Ha entered service in late 1946 and could suddenly contend with heavier Allied tanks. In China, it comfortably outclassed its rivals. The platform's success directly led to the development of the larger Type 3 Chi-Nu with a heavier Compression Cannon. Optionally, the model can be assembled with the traditional 47mm anti-tank gun or with the rapid-firing Light Compression Cannon - giving players flexibility for both Bolt Action and Konflikt '47.

Einsatz im Spiel

The Type 97 Chi-Ha Medium Tank with Compression Turret is the Japanese K47 tank variant: buildable either as a 47mm Anti-Tank variant or as a Compression Cannon variant. In the game, it acts as a medium Anti-Vehicle tank in Japanese K47 lists with compression effects against vehicles. The two variants allow different loadout options depending on the list - ideal as an Anti-Tank asset, supplemented by Battle Frame AT Teams and Ghost special units.
