Product details

Background & context

Every good gaming table needs a point everything converges on. In tournament practice that is usually a large piece in the middle, because it cuts lines of sight and forces both sides to detour instead of letting the game tip into a shooting duel across the diagonal. Ruins lend themselves to this because they deliver cover, height and a story at once. A burnt-out church was part of many European towns after 1944 and stands just the same in Konflikt '47.

On the tabletop

This single ruin, 30 x 20 cm at the base and 25 cm tall, is meant to be the focal point of the table. Put it in the centre, where it breaks diagonal lines of sight and forces both sides to work their way around it. It provides cover, height and an obvious mission objective all at once. With Second World War figures it stands in for a burnt-out church in a European town around 1944.
