The Cerberus Squad 2 - genetically and surgically enhanced British war hounds - are unleashed upon the enemy to wreak havoc in close combat. The dog handlers usually withdraw with relief into the hinterland after releasing the dogs. The Cerberus programs were developed to suppress the dogs' fear response to Mortis Corps and other Rift terrors.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

In the '47 conflict universe, panic broke out among Commonwealth forces in France in 1944 with the first appearance of the Totenkorps - every advance became a nightmare, every village could be infested with undead fighters. Soldiers found that dogs could sense danger early, but were so disturbed by the sight of the Totenkorps that they became unreliable. The controversial scientist Dr. William Sargant then initiated the Cerberus program: dogs were surgically and chemically treated to suppress their fear instincts. The result is the Cerberus Squads - fast, fearless, with the Special Rule Tough Fighters and a movement rate of 8/16 inches. They are designed as a tempo unit: strike first, strike hard, and force reactions. Some regiments categorically refuse to deploy them.

Einsatz im Spiel

The British War Dog Squad is the standard variant of the British War Dog unit: 1 Handler + 3 Cerberus War Dogs. In the game, the dogs act as a fast close-combat unit with special rules such as Fast and Bestial Charge. They are hard to hit, close in quickly, and deal damage to Line units in Close Quarters. The Handler can stay behind after releasing the dogs - ideal as a counter-shock unit in defensive British lists.
