Product details

Background & context

Of the three weapon packages cleared for the Automated Mobile Platform, the light howitzer is the most unusual. Artillery normally depends on standing well behind the front, because a gun crew is hard to replace. An automated gun has no such problem. It moves up close to its own lines, fires in a high arc from short range and can accept losses that nobody would countenance for a crewed battery. The pivoting gun shield helps when splinters come back.

On the tabletop

The Bombardier carries a light howitzer on the uncrewed tracked platform of your British army in Konflikt '47. It fires in a high arc from cover and, since nobody is aboard, can take up positions close to your own line that would be too dangerous for a gun crew. The pivoting shield helps against splinters flying back. Together with the Hunter and Lancer it makes up the three weapon packages of the Automated Mobile Platform.
