This set provides a complete brigade of three Landwehr infantry regiments, Landwehr cavalry, and skirmishing Jäger for Epic Battles in 15mm.

    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    After the devastating defeat against Napoleon in 1806, the Treaty of Tilsit forced Prussia to reduce its regular armed forces to a minimum. As the decisive phase of the Napoleonic Wars began, Prussia therefore primarily relied on Landwehr units - volunteer militias from the general population, which formed the core of the mobilized army. The equipment and training of these units often left much to be desired, but the men compensated for this deficiency with their fighting motivation and sheer troop strength. Well-trained Jäger units operated in front of the Landwehr regiments, taking on reconnaissance and security tasks as light infantry.
