Product details

Background & context

In the summer of 1815, after his return from exile, Napoleon Bonaparte once again mobilized the Grande Armée for a final campaign. The French forces of this so-called Hundred Days' Campaign consisted of a mix of seasoned veterans and newly conscripted soldiers. The infantry formed the backbone of the army, while heavy cavalry units such as cuirassiers and dragoons were intended for decisive breakthroughs. Light cavalry took on reconnaissance and pursuit tasks, and the numerous artillery was considered Napoleon's preferred means of deciding battles.
