Product details

Background & context

Prussia's horse artillery was one of the most mobile elements of Napoleonic forces and was designed to keep up with cavalry quickly. Limbers served as connecting elements between draft horses and cannons and were crucial for the mobility of a battery in combat. In the course of the Prussian army reform of the early 19th century, the horse artillery was systematically expanded and professionalized. These units played an important role in the rapid advance of Prussian units, particularly in the final campaigns of the Napoleonic Wars.

On the tabletop

In the horse artillery every gunner rode, and the limber hooked up the gun for the next change of position. With this resin model you show in 13.5 mm Black Powder games that your Prussian horse battery stays mobile and keeps pace with the cavalry. Place it behind the guns or next to your cavalry brigade. Plastic bases are included; after its army reforms Prussia deliberately expanded this arm.
