Product details

Background & context

Napoleon was a trained artilleryman and placed great importance on mobile, well-supplied batteries. Limbers and draft horses were crucial for bringing guns and ammunition into position in the field. French line artillery formed the backbone of fire support in the campaigns of the Grande Armée. On the gaming table, a limber complements the battery to create a credible image of march and supply.

On the tabletop

Only once Napoleon put the artillery train under military command could the French line artillery move its guns quickly. In 13.5 mm Black Powder games this Warlord Resin limber stands for exactly that mobility. Hook it in front of a gun to show a battery on the march, or place it behind the firing line. Plastic bases are included, and for a grand battery such as those at Wagram or Borodino several limbers are worthwhile.
