Product details

Background & context

The Imperial Guard Artillery was among the best-trained gun crews in the Grande Armée and enjoyed a special elite status. Limbers served as the link between draught horses and the cannon, enabling the rapid transport of cannons and ammunition across the battlefield. The Guard Artillery was frequently held in reserve for decisive moments of combat and was a central instrument of Napoleonic warfare.

On the tabletop

With this Warlord Resin limber, Napoleon's Guard artillery gets its draught vehicle, and plastic bases are included. In 13.5 mm Black Powder games it shows whether a Guard battery is just moving up or has already unlimbered and is firing. Under Drouot the Guard artillery massed into grand batteries at Wagram and Ligny, which meant many guns had to reach the same spot quickly. Several limbers behind your gun line bring that picture to the table.
