Product details

Background & context

The command structure of the Grande Armée was one of the defining characteristics of Napoleonic warfare. At its head was Napoleon Bonaparte, whose tactical genius and charismatic leadership fundamentally transformed the European battlefields of the early 19th century. Around him gathered a circle of experienced marshals and generals who had matured in countless campaigns and independently commanded entire corps. Cavalry leaders like Kellermann represented the aggressive striking power of the mounted units, while infantry commanders like d'Erlon led the heavy foot troops into battle at crucial moments.

On the tabletop

With Napoleon at the head, plus Ney, d'Erlon, Kellermann and a cuirassier general, you lead your Grande Armée in Epic Battles and Black Powder. Place the Emperor behind the columns as commander-in-chief while the others give orders to your divisions and brigades; Kellermann and the cuirassier general suit the heavy cavalry, d'Erlon a large infantry corps. Napoleon's corps system gave every marshal a small army of his own, and that is how you organise your force. The figures are cast in Warlord Resin.
