Product details

Background & context

French armies dominated much of the Napoleonic Wars, fighting in dense columns, lines, and combined arms formations. Battles like Austerlitz, Borodino, and Waterloo showed how quickly musketry, artillery, and cavalry charges could weaken entire formations. In Black Powder Epic Battles, such losses are abstracted as a game state. The French markers are particularly suited to Waterloo and general Napoleonic scenarios.

On the tabletop

French infantry usually attacked in column and suffered heavy losses against rested lines and canister, as d'Erlon's corps did at Waterloo. These 18 fallen Frenchmen in Warlord Resin show in Black Powder how badly a formation has already suffered. Place them in front of the battalion concerned, and your opponent sees without asking where your line is wavering.
