The British Royal Artillery Limber adds a mobile horse team to Napoleonic artillery batteries on the Epic Battles scale. The Warlord resin model, with plastic bases, is unpainted and unassembled, bringing more authenticity to battery positions, marching columns, and scenarios around the Waterloo and Peninsular campaigns.

Background & context

The limber - the two-wheeled front carriage used for hitching and transporting field guns - was the backbone of every mobile artillery unit of the Napoleonic era. The British Royal Artillery was considered one of the most professional artillery forces of its time: disciplined, well-trained, and capable of rapidly repositioning its batteries even under fire. Without functional draft teams, the tactical mobility of the British artillery on the battlefield would have been severely limited - from the Portuguese hinterland to the battlefields of Belgium.

On the tabletop

This Warlord Resin limber adds to your British Royal Artillery battery in 13.5 mm Black Powder games. The gun was hooked onto it, and it also brought the ammunition chest across the field. Place it behind the guns to show a battery in action, or put it into a column of march when the battery is changing position. On the Iberian Peninsula, Wellington's batteries had to keep up with the army over poor roads in just this way.
