Product details

Background & context

The American Civil War presented the Northern states with the challenge of quickly establishing an effective command structure from scratch. This process produced some of the most influential military figures in American history. Men like Ulysses S. Grant and William T. Sherman developed leadership styles and operational concepts that profoundly influenced modern warfare. Their decisions on the battlefield determined the course of a conflict that shook the young nation to its foundations.

On the tabletop

Grant, Sherman, Meade, McClellan and Custer lead your Union army in Epic Battles and Black Powder. Field Grant or McClellan as commander-in-chief, Meade for Gettysburg, Sherman for the march through Georgia and Custer as the young cavalry general at the head of your horsemen. That way your army gets the right commander for each year of the war instead of a nameless base. The figures are resin.
