Product details

Background & context

The Iron Brigade was among the most renowned combat units of the Union in the American Civil War. Its recruits hailed from the states of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana - men who became known for their steadfastness and fighting spirit. Their distinctive identifying feature was the black Hardee hat, which visually set the unit apart from other Union forces. The heavy toll in blood that the brigade suffered during the war reflects the intensity of the battles in which it was deployed and stands to this day as a testament to its exceptional readiness for action.

On the tabletop

Regiments from Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana formed the Union's Iron Brigade, recognisable by their black Hardee hats. The brigade earned its nickname at South Mountain in 1862, and no other brigade suffered a higher percentage of casualties during the war. For Black Powder Epic Battles you get two regiments in Warlord Resin with a full-colour flag sheet. Place them in the battle line of your Union army where it must not give way under pressure.
