    Product details

    Background & context

The Neo-Assyrian Empire (c. 911-609 BCE) was one of the most powerful military forces in the ancient world. The king's chariot was more than a war vehicle - it was a symbol of royal power and divine authority on the battlefield. Assyrian reliefs depict royal chariots as prominent command platforms, positioning the ruler at the center of the military order. For Hail Caesar, such a chariot is particularly well-suited as a striking command or scenario model.

    On the tabletop

On the reliefs from Nineveh, Ashurbanipal appears again and again in his chariot, and this royal chariot leads your Neo-Assyrian army in Hail Caesar in the same way. Use it as the model for your general, around which the other units are arranged. The heavy chariot long formed the shock arm of the Assyrian army until cavalry overtook it, but it remained the ruler's platform. The model fits games set between the 9th and 7th centuries BC.
