Product details

Background & context

In Vietnam, Australia used M113 armoured personnel carriers to move infantry and support them with their machine guns. Because of the danger from mines, infantrymen often rode on top of the vehicle rather than in the cramped interior. At Long Tan in August 1966, M113s carried a relief company through rain and mud to the surrounded company. In the years that followed the vehicles accompanied patrols and search operations in Phuoc Tuy province.

On the tabletop

Place the seven men on the roof of your M113 and it is clear at a glance that the vehicle carries a rifle section. Once the section dismounts, swap them for standing figures and let the carrier drive on empty. The seated poses also work for a rest scene at the edge of a fire support base. When gluing, make sure legs and seats sit cleanly on the vehicle's surface.
