Product details

Background & context

Tooth obstacles of reinforced concrete were part of the standard repertoire of fortress building from the thirties onwards, on the Westwall just as on the Maginot Line and later in long rows on the Atlantic Wall. They were not meant to destroy tanks but to force them: around the field, into a gap and so in front of the barrels of the anti-tank guns. Barbed wire fields did the same to the infantry. An obstacle without fire behind it was worthless, and both sides knew it.

On the tabletop

Thirty-eight concrete dragon's teeth, nine wire obstacles and 3 m of barbed wire let you build barriers in Bolt Action that force the enemy onto particular routes. Set the teeth in rows in front of a position or along a beach so vehicles have to go around. The wire obstacles hold up infantry or steer them into areas you have covered with fire. They are modelled on the West Wall, the Maginot Line and the Atlantic Wall.
