    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The war chariot was one of the most feared weapons of the ancient Celts, especially among the British tribes, who were renowned for their superior charioteering skills. Celtic charioteers mastered maneuvering in tight spaces with impressive precision - Julius Caesar describes in his campaign reports the terror that Celtic chariots unleashed upon his legions. Naked warriors on the chariot embodied the typical Celtic combat mysticism, where fearlessness and physical presence were used as an intimidating weapon. The chariot served both as a fast means of transport for warriors and as a mobile platform for throwing spears and javelins.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Ancient Celts: Chariot 2 is used in Hail Caesar and Clash of Spears as a Celtic chariot model for Gallic, British, or Celtic forces fighting Rome. In the game, it combines high mobility with flanking threats, harassing attacks, and occasional shock effects against already engaged enemies. Historically, it is particularly suitable for Gallic and British armies, where chariots acted more as mobile prestige pieces and disruptive elements than as heavy cavalry.
