Product details

Background & context

Die Achämeniden herrschten vom 6. bis zum 4. Jahrhundert v. Chr.

On the tabletop

This mounted Persian commander leads your Achaemenid army in Hail Caesar, as commander-in-chief or as leader of a cavalry division. The nobility of the empire led on horseback and displayed its rank openly: the model wears scale armour in the eastern Iranian or Scythian style, carries a short sword, battle-axe and bow, and rides a Nisaean horse from Media. Gilded scales of this kind were found at Persepolis, which gives you a clear painting guide.
