    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Achaeans or Mycenaeans of the early Aegean city-states dominated the region from the Late Bronze Age until the end of the Bronze Age. As versatile fighters, Javelinmen could be deployed as light skirmishers and chariot runners, as well as medium infantry in the battle line. Alongside spearmen and the axe-wielding Royal Guard, they formed the backbone of Mycenaean armies, which rivaled the Hittites and the Egyptian New Kingdom.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Achaean Javelinmen are used in Hail Caesar as light infantry, skirmishers, or mobile close combat support for Mycenaean-Achaean Bronze Age armies. In the game, the unit disrupts enemy movement, occupies terrain, and protects heavier troops from flanking attacks. They should utilize distance, cover, and mobility, and not engage solid heavy infantry alone.
