    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Achaeans, also known as Mycenaeans, were the dominant power of the Aegean Bronze Age and utilized light chariots as an important means of warfare. The characteristic four-spoked wheels of the Achaean chariot were found in similar form among many peoples of the Eastern Mediterranean. In Homer's world, at the time of the Trojan War, chariots were a sign of rank and prestige - heroes like Achilles or Hector rode into battle in the Iliad. Archaeological finds from Mycenae and contemporary pictorial sources confirm the use of these light vehicles in battles of the late 2nd millennium BC.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Achaean Chariot I is used in Hail Caesar as a chariot or chariot combat element for Mycenaean Achaean Bronze Age armies. In the game, it combines movement, ranged or close combat options, and psychological pressure on flanks or light troops. Chariot models should be interpreted as mobile support and scenario elements, not simply as normal cavalry.
