Product details

Background & context

Of Germany's allies on the Eastern Front, Hungary alone had the industry to design and build its own tanks. The Turán started from the Czech Škoda T-21 design, which Hungary produced with a domestic 40mm gun. That soon fell short against Soviet armour, so the 41M received a larger turret with a 75mm gun. Only 139 of this version were built, and after Stalingrad they formed the core of the heavy tank companies.

On the tabletop

The three kits form a complete tank platoon, enough to fill the armoured platoon selector from Bolt Action: Campaign Fortress Budapest or to play a game of Tank War. In Bolt Action the Turán II follows the Turán I rules, but its turret carries a medium anti-tank gun in place of the light one. With that 75mm gun each tank can take on enemy vehicles while still threatening infantry and guns. The platoon fits the Eastern Front from 1943 and the defence of Hungary in 1944. Every box includes an order die, a vehicle card and damage markers.
