Product details

Background & context

The Toldi was based on the Swedish Landsverk L-60 light tank, which Hungary built under licence; the first vehicles reached the troops in 1940. It was armed with a 20mm Solothurn anti-tank rifle. The Toldi II added a more reliable engine, stronger suspension and better conditions for the turret crew. Once heavier tanks pushed it out of the battle line, it carried on for a long time in reconnaissance and training roles.

On the tabletop

In a Hungarian armoured platoon for Bolt Action the Toldi fills the light tank slot. Its 20mm anti-tank rifle copes with armoured cars, halftracks and other light tanks, but it should steer clear of heavier opponents. It is at its best in the early war years, such as the Hungarian advance into Ukraine in 1941, and later mainly as a scout. The box includes the Order Die, vehicle card, decals and damage markers.
