Background & context

Factory walls are part of every industrial district of the 20th century: they protected materials, kept the curious out and became the front line as soon as the fighting shifted into suburbs and factory quarters. Industrial plants were coveted objectives because they combined production, a rail connection and solid cover in one place. Anyone modelling Stalingrad, Caen or a locomotive depot cannot get round this combination of brick and iron.

On the tabletop

The factory wall encloses works yards, storage areas or a railway depot on your table. Six wall sections and eight pillars give you more than 73 cm of wall to set up straight, at right angles or as a closed compound. Fit the two iron gates with one or two leaves at the entrance, which is often where the fight for an industrial district is decided. For scenarios such as Stalingrad or Caen it marks the outer boundary of a factory site.
